However, this is ONLY true for reds, because in the usual course of play, it is possible to pot and score more than one red on a single stroke (three is the most that I have personally ever seen). This is not true with a colour. WebKind of like the first scenario, except instead of missing every ball from the shot, I make contact with the black ball by mistake, and then the cue ball gets potted. Does the opponent gain 7 points because I hit the black, or 4 points (minimum foul) because I was aiming for a red, but instead hit a black?
