Web29 set 2014 · I have a 99 Grand Cherokee with a 247 quada drive transfer case that needs replaced. I'm having problems finding one. I have found a bunch of the 242 transfer cases. I was wondering how hard it is to swap them and what all parts need changed. Any info would be appreciated. This is the first Jeep Ive owned so not to familiar with them. NP231 compatibility comes up from time to time and rarely can anyone say with confidence that an NP231 from one model and year will be a direct replacement for another model and year. The best bet is to stick with same model, year, and transmission unless you are prepared to swap the input shaft.
