WebDec 25, 2013 · Its basically throttle the engine quickly and release while down shifting to a lower gear, and by doing so (blipping) you match the rpm that is on the lower gear. If you dont do that then you can get nasty side effects such like sliding off the track or get nasty "jump/jolt" when speed in wheels dont match from the gear you are in when downshift.
