WebI found a "workaround" to boot from an ISO while in "EFI firmware mode": go to the loader prompt (choose "3. Escape to loader prompt" in the loader's menu), run ls or show or efi-show, and then boot. Now the kernel is booting just fine. I don't know why ls or show affect this... Something happens with EFI console's buffer?
