Agree: Old school for motors and such. Wet your finger and swipe the housing. If it sizzles, it it too hot, steaming is fine. Typical = 100 C above ambient temperature maximum. Wire size is #6. At 100 A it is ~4 watts per foot energy loss. That is barely above ambient temp.
